АМ-тюнер работает со станциями диапазонов ДВ и СВ. 20 с занимает заполнение банка ЧМ-тюнера шестью станциями по убыванию мощности. Удобно организован поиск по PTY. А вот синхронизировать часы по коду за отведённое время наш экземпляр JVC не сумел.

В мужских голосах на CD едва заметна характерная цифровая жёсткость. Впрочем, она почти всегда идёт в комплекте с высокой детальностью, как и в данном случае. Интонации воспроизводятся точно, правда сибилянты несколько искусственны. Бас очень правилен по рельефу, но атака, если уж придираться, несколько сглажена. Женский вокал мягче мужского, однако верхние голосовые ноты и здесь не очень певучи. Зато звучание очень подробное. Скрипки чересчур конкретны. Роялю не хватает прозрачности верхней середины. Верх пустоват, но тоже подробен и отчётлив.

Записям в DD не хватает раздельности звучания нот рояля. Да и динамика тоже не очень впечатляет, музыка кажется как бы искусственно сглаженной (хотя, если разобраться, компрессированные форматы именно этим и занимаются). Впрочем, это не касается саундтреков фильмов — там напора и динамики чаще всего с избытком, так что такая подача найдёт своих приверженцев.

Звучание в DTS отличается очень заметно, как будто всё наполнилось воздухом. Или же объём воздуха остался тот же, только он стал чище и прозрачнее. У скрипок можно выделить каждое движение смычков, хорошо читаются голоса духовых, и всё же драматизма подачи порой недостаёт, как и в DD.
