The 911 is a pendulum if you don't have the right setup. Here's how to get a driveable tour of Monza!
Assetto Corsa Competizione setups are difficult things to master.
With far more intense options and engineering lingo than games like F1 2020 or Gran Turismo Sport that many players start on, it can be a daunting task to make an ACC setup that works.
That’s why we are here to help you out!
ACC setups
There are a few basic rules to follow when it comes to. The first is tyre pressures.
Ideal PSI for dry tyres sits around 27.5. Your PSI will fluctuate with tyre temps, but when they are that wonderful green colour you want them in a 27.3-27.9 PSI window.
Next is baselines. The default setup is a nice start, if slow, but the preset “aggressive” setup is a good starting point to begin tinkering from and correcting to your driving style.
The aggressive setup can be prone to snap oversteer, something that is only amplified in the rear-engined Porsche 911 GT3 R.
However, it will do things like lower your TC/ABS and give you a better ride height.
A good setup will give you that last second or so of performance, so let's see what we can do around Monza in the 911.
Tyres
The first page of your setup is perhaps the most crucial of the lot.
These PSI values mean that when hot the tyres will be in the optimum operating window.
If you are doing a very long race, 2 hours or more, you will want to take the PSI down a touch.
Track temperature will also create some fluctuation in your PSI so if you're racing at night bump it up! We've also eased back on the rear camber to keep your tyres alive for a little longer.
Electronics
Electronics is all about traction control, ABS, and the ECU mapping.
It's a very individual part of the setup and one that can be changed mid-race so you don't need to spend too long on it.
In enduro races you can click everything up to save tyres and fuel.
Fuel & strategy
Again, this is very session dependant. Most people do 20 minute races that don't require a pit stop. However, if you are stopping make sure you set your new tyre PSI correctly!
The key here is picking your brake set. The shorter the race you are doing, the lower the value of brake disc you want.
However, the very last set is for practice only as it replicates very worn brakes so you can get a feel for late stint racing and should not be used for an actual race!
Mechanical grip
The suspension settings are crucial in ACC.
While Monza may just be three straights and three chicanes, it also has some vicious kerbs and very heavy braking zones.
The Porsche is also very prone to oversteer, so if you don't like that you'll want to stiffen up the rear, or loosen the front, to correct with setup rather than driving style.
Just beware on turn-in at Parabolica!
Dampers
Dampers are very hard to get a feel for in ACC unless you have the highest of high-end sims.
Generally softer is better, and is especially helpful if you get too greedy with kerbs. However, making any dramatic change will have the car pitching around more.
This is vital for Monza. You want as little aero as possible.
You want no wing so you can fly down the straights, however if you are struggling to keep the rear under control you can add a click of wing to help.
Likewise, If you feel you are loosing the rear off-throttle then you can drop the rear ride height a few clicks to help. It will create more understeer and stability.

Porsche 991 II GT3 Car Setups
If you spend any time in Assetto Corsa Competizione forums, you’ll quickly start to hear about how good and overpowered the Porsche GT3 is in-game. So much so, that most sim racers will agree that this is easily the fastest car.
While the Porsche GT3 is supremely fast in the right hands, this does come with a huge negative. The Porsche is very tricky to drive, especially compared with other cars.
It has a huge reliance on its aero performance, and in turn is extremely sensitive. This is prevalent during lift off on corner entry or mid corner. The car has a tendency for lift off oversteer, and will step out of control quickly.
If you can learnt to drive the Porsche GT3, you can be supremely quick. We’d recommend using a custom setup above, as a good setup can help tune out some of the sensitivity.

Assetto Corsa Competizione Setups Xbox, PlayStation & PC
ACC is a game which is available across all platforms, including Xbox and PlayStation consoles. And with that level of compatibility comes an influx of sim racers picking up their racing gloves. Assetto Corsa Competizione is a fantastic sim racing game, with one of the best GT3 and GT4 physics engines going.
Assetto Corsa Competizione does a fantastic job of providing the player with a good selection of preset setups. These setups range from aggressive to balanced. And they give players the chance to test the car with a variety of setups without adjusting anything.
The great thing about these setups, is that they are individual on every track. The aggressive setup on Monza is vastly different to the aggressive setup for Brands Hatch for example. This is a nice touch by the developers to spend time creating these setups.
However, these setups aren’t necessarily the quickest setup for every scenario. For those who are looking for a more refined ACC setup for Xbox, PlayStation or PC, we have you covered.
We have a selection of Assetto Corsa Competizione setups for every car. Some of the cars have more setups than others, as some cars prove better to drive than others.
ACC Setup Files vs Detailed Setups
On PC, the easiest way to share car setups is via an ACC JSON setup file. These files allow players to quickly import a new race setup at the click of a button. This is a fantastic way to share setups, and to trial a selection of ACC setups quickly.
However, we don’t have this option for the Xbox and PS4 / PS5 versions of Assetto Corsa Competizione. Therer isn’t a way to share setups easily, or download other players setups.
This has led us to detailing every setup so Xbox and PlayStation ACC gamers can manually input new setups. Every car setup above details every part of the setup, showing you the exact camber angles, through to the full mechanical setup.
You can try any of the ACC setups above on console, by simply inputting the setup details on your console. Yes, it may take a minute longer than simply importing a setup file. However this is the best route for Assetto Corsa Competizione console players to try new setups.
Created By The Community
All of the setups above have been created by the Assetto Corsa community. These are setups created by sim racers, for sim racers. This gives you the confidence that all of the ACC setups on Sim Racing Setup have been tested, and used in game.
